Lesson 1
NASA was able to get the equipment set up to talk to Pathfinder again and at first they talked via Mark putting written messages in front of the camera and they would then spell out questions/responses by pointing the camera at pairs of numbers/letters in Hex that Mark could decode.
They were then able to update the software on the pathfinder to broadcast/talk to the big rovers on the HAB beacon frequency. They then had to update the big rovers software to listen/understand the pathfinder signal which they were able to do by having the data stored in a buffer and then having Mark write a little program to read that data and patch them.
After that he was able to use the computer in the big rover to type out and send/read messages to NASA.
